Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I hope you all had an enjoyable and relaxing summer. My name is Diane Haack, and I'm thrilled to be teaching 4th Grade at St. Stephen the Martyr. It's going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures. I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us! I will get to know all about you very soon, but first I'm going to tell you a few things about me. This year, I am beginning my 25th year of teaching, and my 9th year at St. Stephen the Martyr. I graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, I began teaching at St. Bernard Catholic School. I spent 8 years teaching 4th grade, and another 8 years teaching 5th grade at St. Bernard.
Now a little about me personally. I grew up in Gretna, NE. My husband, Russ, and I have two fantastic boys who keep us on the go! Ryan will begin his first year at UNO this fall, and Grant will be a Sophomore at Gretna High School. We also have a sweet little puppy as part of our family. Her name is Luna & she is a mini Australian Shepherd.. She is a lot of fun, and keeps us on our toes at all times! When I'm not teaching, one of my favorite things to do is travel. This summer my family & I spent some time in New York City celebrating Ryan's High School Graduation. We were able to see a lot of the sights. We also love baseball, so we made a few trips to Kansas City to cheer on the Royals! I enjoy reading, going to movies, crafting, and spending time with my friends and family.
Thank you in advance for the opportunity to work with your child and for allowing me to become a part of your child’s life. Teaching is truly something that I put my heart into. I look forward to what each new day might bring. I am committed to helping your child reach his / her full potential and to be successful academically, socially, and spiritually. I look forward to a great year of learning and sharing!
